Hello! My name is Sofia and I am a university student from Toronto, Canada. In university, I study Cognitive Sciences (how the mind and brain works) and linguistics (structure of languages). I love to learn new languages and even now, I am taking a Spanish class to improve my skills. Because of these experiences, I know how hard it is to get the confidence to speak in a different language and want to support you in any way. The best way to learn a language properly is by conversational practice! I also love to travel very much and have been to many places around the world. These places include: Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Amsterdam, Denmark, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, China, Uruguay, Costa Rica, USA, and many more... I always love to talk about travelling with my students and would be happy to share my experiences. The structure of my classes depends on you and your needs. I can give a more instructional class if you wish or I can just be a conversational partner, correcting any mistakes I hear and offering better ways of saying things. The class time is totally up to you in terms of topics you want to discuss, I will also come prepared with my own topics. One thing I love to do is send news articles to my students to read before class and we can discuss a little bit during class time. This is just one option as CNK also has lots of great conversational books we can use! This is just a little bit about me and my classes. I have been teaching at CNK since October 2020 and have met some amazing people. I love getting to know my students and watching them improve their English skills and gain more confidence.
