Hey there! I'm Amber, currently 23 years old, originally from Los Angeles, California but now living in Oklahoma, USA, and I’m an identical twin! In 2023, I graduated as a fiction writer from the University of Riverside, California and I’m currently still working on my first novel! Alongside my studies, I gained four years of experience in peer tutoring English— focusing on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and how to make more interesting and stronger sentences. I also tutored during my beginner Korean course— teaching the basics of 한글 and basic sentence structure. I really love learning new languages and researching about cultures that are different from my own; please feel free to teach me as much as I teach you! What I value the most in my classroom is letting my students be in charge of their learning— While I do offer suggestions, the structure of our classes is ultimately up to you! I can easily adapt to any learning style and we can explore different options together to find what works the best for you. I’m also open to recommending fun and engaging ways to learn and practice outside of my classroom. I pride myself in being an active listener who also loves conversing, so please come to my classes ready to speak! The more you speak, the easier it is to help you improve. In my free time, I’m often dabbling in many different interests and hobbies: reading, solving puzzles, writing, exercising, and playing games. But, I believe I spend the most of my time listening to music, singing, and studying languages— I have been studying Korean for about 4-5 years and just started Japanese by the end of 2024. If this provides any relief at all, I know exactly how it feels to speak and practice a new language so there is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed in front of me! I like to think confidence is the true key to getting better so I welcome all possible mistakes— we will correct them together!
