LEGO is a popular toy loved by kids all around the world! It all started in 1932 in Denmark. A man named Ole Kirk Christiansen began making wooden toys. Two years later, in 1934, he named his company "LEGO." The name "LEGO" comes from the Danish words "Leg Godt," which mean "play well."
In 1949, LEGO made its first plastic bricks. These bricks were the start of the LEGO we know today. In 1958, they improved the design so the bricks could stick together better. This new design made it easy to build fun things that wouldn't fall apart.
Over the years, LEGO has become more than just bricks. There are LEGO sets for cars, spaceships, castles, and even movies! Today, LEGO is one of the most popular toys ever, letting kids and adults build anything they can imagine.
