The way people think about marriage is changing among Generation Z and millennials, according to a survey in America. Two out of five people surveyed believe that marriage is an outdated tradition.  
Even though traditional ideas about marriage are shifting, 83 percent of the participants still want to get married at some point. However, 85 percent of them also feel that marriage is not necessary to have a fulfilling and committed relationship.  
A good number of young adults, around one in six, do not plan on getting married. The survey found that the cost of getting married and the current economy are barriers for many young adults. 73 percent of participants said they felt it was too expensive to get married.  
The survey also discovered that more millennials live with their partners compared to Generation Z. When it comes to moving in together, more than half of the couples said it was related to finances, and 85 percent did it because they wanted to. About 60 percent of participants moved in together after dating for a year or less.
