The BT Tower in London, standing tall at 189 meters, might seem like an unlikely place for a hotel. However, this iconic landmark is set to become one, as it was recently sold to MCR Hotels for £275 million.

Now, with technological changes making its original purpose outdated, the tower will be transformed into a hotel. MCR Hotels, known for hotels like the New Yorker and TWA Hotel in New York, will be working with architect Thomas Heatherwick on the design. 

However, it will take some time before the hotel opens its doors. BT, the current owner, needs to move out, and with the complex equipment on site, this process will "take a number of years," according to the hotel firm. But once reopened, visitors can enjoy staying in this historic and unique London landmark.
