To talk about a future plan, decision, or something you expect to happen based on what you see now.
Core Nuance'Be going to' shows that a plan or decision was made before this moment, or that a future event is already visible in the present situation. Native speakers use it for planned actions ('I'm going to visit my grandma') and for predictions with clear evidence ('Look at those clouds — it's going to rain'). It feels more prepared and grounded than 'will'.
~할 것이다, ~할 예정이다, ~하려고 한다
이미 마음속으로 정해둔 계획이나 결정을 말할 때 씁니다.
지금 눈에 보이는 상황을 근거로 앞으로 벌어질 일을 예측할 때도 자주 씁니다.
'will'보다 더 준비된 느낌, 이미 정해진 느낌을 줍니다.

미리 정해둔 계획이나 예정을 말할 때 씁니다.

주어 + be going to + 동사원형 (예측)
지금 상황을 보고 앞으로 벌어질 일을 예측할 때 씁니다.
Look at the sky. It's going to rain.하늘 좀 봐. 비 올 것 같아.
Common Mistakes이렇게 쓰면 틀려요
✕ I going to call my mom.
✓ I'm going to call my mom.
'be going to'에서 be동사(am/is/are)를 빠뜨리면 안 됩니다.
You must include the be verb (am/is/are) before 'going to'.
✕ She is going to studies tonight.
✓ She is going to study tonight.
'be going to' 뒤에는 반드시 동사원형이 옵니다. -s나 과거형을 쓰지 않습니다.
After 'be going to', always use the base form of the verb, not -s or past form.
