How some friendships last — and others don’t
Preview
Friendships help us feel supported, reduce stress, and grow emotionally. Studies show we often think others like us less than they actually do—this is called the “liking gap.” If we believe people will like us, we naturally act warmer and friendlier. Good friendships grow through shared interests, trust, and regular contact. Conflicts are normal, but honest and kind conversations can fix them. No matter your age, it’s never too late to make a new friend.
